Treatment Guidance

First of all, we are excited to be bringing this state of the art therapy to your doorstep. 

Once you have booked your first treatment session, it is vital that the following steps are followed in order to give you the best outcome from this treatment.

1. Plan sessions - In order to maximise the effectiveness of the treatment, 2 sessions should be booked per week, with around 2-3 days between each session. If it is not feasible to do this, due to lack of appointments or your own personal commitments, we can organise a time that works for our practitioners and yourself. You can see the availability of appointments on the 'Book Online' section of the website.

2. Following your first treatment session, we will organise your remaining 5 treatment sessions, in line with the above protocol. 

3. At the moment, our booking system is restricted to booking your first session, therefore the remaining 5 treatment sessions will be booked in person at your first appointment.

4. You will be reminded of your treatment sessions by email, so please make sure to check your spam to avoid any missed communication.

Procedure

​

Prior to the commencement of your first session, it is mandatory that you have an up to date eye-test with an OCT scan result of both eyes. This will allow us to generate a comprehensive report of your results before and after treatment.

If you are in need of an eye-test or OCT scan, contact us before booking. 

After you have completed your 6 sessions, we will repeat the OCT scan and assess your vision, before sending you an emailed report of your results.

Recall

Depending on the nature of your macular disease,  the frequency of treatment will vary. In order to prevent the regression of any positive changes, we would recommend 2 treatment cycles per year.

However in more advanced cases, it could require 3 treatment cycles per year. This will be discussed with you at your first appointment.

We take pride in introducing the first dry eye treatment addressing three of the most common causes of dryness and irritation. Our unique proprietary Triple Treatment Method targets Posterior/Anterior/Demodex Blepharitis and poor eyelid function comprehensively.

This bespoke service is best suited for Dry Eyes, as the effects can be noticed after the very first treatment. 

By having 2 treatment sessions, we can guarantee that the symptoms and signs of Dry Eyes will be exponentially improved.

 

Our aim is to diminish your reliance on dry eye supplementation.

It's crucial to recognise that the severity of dryness influences the prognosis of this treatment. In cases of severe dryness, we anticipate a reduction in the need for artificial tears rather than their complete discontinuation.

For mild to moderate cases, discontinuing tear supplements is a strong possibility, though not guaranteed due to various influencing factors. Nevertheless, our method for addressing dryness is notably comprehensive and effective.

During your consultation, we'll discuss the anticipated outcome of your treatment, as accurately assessing your level of dryness is essential for achieving optimal results.

Procedure

​

At your first session, a thorough investigation will be undertaken to establish your level of ocular dryness. We will discuss with you what factors are influencing your symptoms and give you a better understanding of dry eyes. 

 

Each session includes the following steps:

1. Eyelid Exfoliation - the eyelids are cleaned thoroughly, removing any build up of dead cells or capping to glands. 

2. Eyelid Expression - the eyelid oils are squeezed out the eyelids, freeing up any blocked glands and facilitating better and healthier production of oils. 

3. Eyelid Disinfection - using an effective anti-parasitic ointment, all parasites are neutralised, reducing the chances of future issues. 

4. Photobiomodulation - Increasing cell activity and function to restore the natural order within the eyelids. 

5. OSDI - a questionnaire to quantify your symptoms, using this information we can show you the improvement in your symptoms.

Recall 

​

Most of our patients see a 70-90% improvement in their symptoms within 2 treatment sessions. 

With this in mind, the eyelids just like with any other organ in the body, will return to its original untreated state within a period of time. 

​

We expect our treatment effect to last for 6 months. Some will not require any top-up sessions at all which is great!

However for those with more persistent cases, we are here to get you back on the right track.
